The History of Houndstooth Clothing Company (2023)

1992

Houndstooth Clothing Company opened for business in a small storefront just off the downtown square in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Houndstooth Clothing Co. based its reputation on unique design and quality construction. Houndstooth t-shirts became a hit with students at the University of Arkansas, and word spread as these students carried the brand beyond Fayetteville.

1993

We opened a second location in the Northwest Arkansas Mall of Fayetteville. At this time we only carried our Houndstooth Originals. Since then we have outgrown the original kiosk location and have expanded into an in-line store.

1996

During this year a kiosk location was opened in Central Mall in the city of Ft. Smith, AR. As the popularity of Houndstooth shirts grew so did the need for more space. Our Ft. Smith location followed suit and has also been transitioned into an in-line store.

1997

Our expansion continued all the way across the state to Jonesboro, AR in the Mall at Turtle Creek. The Jonesboro location offers a variety of products including our Razorback and Legacy Collections along with our Arkansas State University line

1999

During this time we opened a location in the Park Plaza Mall in Little Rock, AR. This was a great year for the company. We began producing a line of licensed apparel for Razorback fans and soon secured a strong following.

2004

We expanded southwest and opened a location in the Hot Springs Mall. Our Hot Springs location is growing in the traditional Houndstooth way.

2016

We opened a temporary location in the Pinnacle Hills Promenade in Rogers, AR. The incredible amount of support from our customers made it clear we were there to stay. The following summer werelaunched our newly renovated Pinnacle Hills Promenade store making it our largest Houndstooth location yet!
